Voiced retroflex lateral approximant to Voiced velar fricative

The phonetic transformation from a voiced retroflex lateral approximant [ɭ] to a voiced velar fricative [ɣ] involves a significant shift in both the place and manner of articulation. This change moves the point of articulation from the retroflex region to the velar region, while also changing the manner from a lateral approximant, where air flows over the sides of the tongue, to a central fricative, where turbulent air is produced through a narrow constriction in the center of the vocal tract.
