Palatal nasal to Alveolar nasal

The shift from the palatal nasal [ɲ] to the alveolar nasal [n] is known as depalatalization. This process often occurs in word-final positions or as part of a general simplification of the consonant system, moving from a more marked palatal sound to a more common alveolar one.
